It is with deep sadness that we have to announce the death of our former President Dr Jorge Canestri, Rome.

He passed away on 7 May 2021.

Jorge Canestri was President of the EPF from 2016 - 2020. He was an outstanding psychoanalytic scientist and practitioner who led the EPF internally with inspiration and prudence and represented it highly competently in international contacts with all his experience and knowledge.
In Jorge Canestri we lose a universally esteemed, highly competent psychoanalyst whom we will miss extraordinarily. Nevertheless, he has left indelible traces in the development of contemporary psychoanalytic theory and practice, which will continue to point the way in the future.
A detailed obituary and a broader appreciation of his psychoanalytical merits will follow shortly.

Heribert Blass, EPF President, on behalf of the whole EPF Executive
