Linking Field Theory and Systems Psychodynamics to Enhance Leadership: Developed by the Department of Psychoanalytic Education Council for Leadership and Organizational Studies
Dear Colleagues, Power in organizational life is rarely straightforward and much of what shapes how it's used, shared, or abused operates outside conscious awareness. For leaders navigating today's complex organizational landscape, developing that awareness is essential. This fall, American Psychoanalytic Association (APsA) and the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA) are co-presenting the fourth iteration of the CLOS Advanced Leadership Seminar. This year, we are pleased to offer a streamlined six-week format at $199 (18 CME/CE credits). Drawing on field theory and systems psychodynamics, the seminar explores how unconscious group processes such as projective identification, splitting, social defenses, and more, shape leadership and organizational culture. Each session balances theory with experiential learning through large group discussion and small self-study groups. This course is open to those currently in leadership or actively working toward it, across psychoanalytic and community-based organizations worldwide.
