4th Thinking On The Border Conference

The international conference Thinking on the Border is a joint event of the societies from nine neighbouring countries from South East and Central Europe: Belgrade Psychoanalytical Society, Bulgarian Psychoanalytical Society, Croatian Psychoanalytical Society, Hellenic Psychoanalytical Society, Hungarian Psychoanalytical Society, Istanbul Psychoanalytical Association, Psike Istanbul Psychoanalytic Association, Italian Psychoanalytical Association, Italian Psychoanalytical Society, Psychoanalytical Society of Serbia, Romanian Society of Psychoanalysis, Vienna Psychoanalytic Association, and Vienna Psychoanalytic Society.

After Belgrade, Rome, and Istanbul, the next International Conference THINKING ON THE BORDER is being organised by the Italian Psychoanalytic Society, the Italian Psychoanalytical Association and eleven neighbouring Societies from the South East and Central Europe, in Trieste, 27 – 29 June 2025.

Keynote speakers are Sarantis Thanopulos and Jan Abram, Ferhan Ozenen and Maria Chatziandreou, while the participants at the Sunday round table are Paolo Fonda, Ettore Jogan, Mario Colucci and Pier Aldo Rovatti. The theoretical and clinical presentations include the representatives of all twelve organising societies. The program also involves projection of the movie ‘La città dei matti’ – ‘Once Upon a Time the City of Fools’ (2010 Italian biographical drama television film, directed by Marco Turco), as well as an organised visit to the Basaglia psychiatric Hospital.
