Call for 'Individual Papers'
What is required
To consider your application we require: a completed application form, an abstract (ca. 1800 letters, incl. blanks) and a complete version of your paper (40 min, i.e. 8-12 pages, corresponding ca 22.000 letters, incl. blanks). Applications, abstracts and papers must be typed (Arial 12, single-spaced, no handwriting is accepted) in one of the EPF languages: English, French or German. Papers and abstracts should be submitted in the language they will be read at the Conference.
The author takes full responsibility for the content of his or her contribution. Ethical considerations concerning clinical material are solely the responsibility of the author. Authors are expected to give correct and extensive references when referring to or quoting relevant publications by psychoanalytic colleagues.
Completing the application form
15th of November 2017 was the deadline so that the application form is no longer accessible.
The abstract - if the paper is accepted at peer review - will serve as an advertisement for your presentation on the EPF website and in the Conference Programme. It is therefore important that the abstract is clear, the title is attractive, and that they furnish as much information as possible on what the paper is about.
The deadline for the submission of abstracts and papers (they should be sent together) is 15th November 2017. In case the paper is accepted, the abstract will be posted on the EPF website in the language in which it will be presented.
Submissions will be anonymously reviewed by three independent peer reviewers according to the following criteria: psychoanalytical quality of argument, relevance for the conference theme – and the argument should be interesting for the audience. The final decision of acceptance is taken by the Scientific Committee, based on the organization of the programme and on the number of available time slots.
If your paper is accepted
The Scientific committee will choose the time slot for presentation. The number of participants attending an individual paper can vary very much. It will not be possible to provide simultaneous translation for these events.
Length of final paper
The time allocated for the presentation will be 40 minutes, which will give 45-50 minutes for discussion with the audience, supported by the chair of the session. Your paper should not exceed 12 pages, and as presenter it is your responsibility to observe the allocated time limit.
